Vikarabad, Nov 3: A wave of grief swept through Tandur town in Vikarabad district after three sisters from the same family were killed in the devastating Chevella bus accident on the Hyderabad–Bijapur highway. The victims — Tanusha, Sai Priya, and Nandini — were daughters of Ellayya Goud, residents of Gandhi Nagar in Tandur. Family members said the sisters had recently attended a wedding celebration and were returning home when tragedy struck. The loss has plunged the entire neighborhood into mourning. The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday strongly criticised the state government's ban on bike taxis, calling its rationale "thin" and "legally untenable". Chief Justice Vibhu Bakhru, leading the bench, remarked that bike taxis were not a luxury but a necessity, especially for affordable last-mile transport in cities. The court noted that bike taxis are operational in at least 13 other Indian states and recognised as a legal and vital form of urban mobility.
