A minor incident near a small temple in Hyderabad’s Malakpet area led to tension late into the night on Sunday, prompting heavy police deployment. Authorities said the situation remained under control despite gatherings and slogan-shouting by groups in the locality.

The incident occurred in Akbar Bagh, Malakpet, near Masjid Akbari. According to police, water was thrown from a nearby residential building after clothes were washed. Some of the water reportedly fell near a small temple located close to the building.

Members of the local Hindu community objected to the incident, leading to discussions between residents and community representatives. Soon after receiving information about the matter, AIMIM MLA Ahmed Balala intervened and reportedly instructed the residents of the building to exercise caution.

What began as a local dispute later attracted larger crowds. According to local residents, workers associated with some organizations gathered in significant numbers and continued raising slogans late into the night.

The incident also generated considerable activity on social media. Several posts allegedly claimed that dirty water had been deliberately poured into the temple premises. However, local sources disputed these claims and stated that the information being circulated online did not accurately reflect what had occurred.

Police maintained a strong presence in the area throughout the night to prevent any escalation. Officials monitored the situation closely and took steps to disperse groups gathered at the location.

Speaking to the media late at night, South Zone DCP Kiran Khare Prabhakar stated that the situation was under control. He said a complaint had been received from an individual identified as Dharmendra and that an FIR would be registered following due process.

The DCP further stated that the assembled groups had been dispersed and warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone found spreading false or inflammatory content on social media platforms.

Authorities have appealed to the public to avoid sharing unverified information and to rely on official updates while the matter is being examined through legal channels.
