Hyderabad Police have unearthed a major overseas job fraud racket operating under the name “Trivial Chapter,” arresting two key members on Tuesday April 14. The gang allegedly cheated unemployed youth by promising lucrative job opportunities in European countries.
According to Jubilee Hills Police, the accused targeted job aspirants seeking employment in countries such as Greece and Romania. They collected amounts ranging between ₹4,00,000 and ₹5,00,000 from each candidate, promising to secure work visas and employment abroad.
Investigations revealed that after collecting the money, the firm issued forged offer letters and fake work authorization documents. Once payments were made, the accused reportedly cut off all communication with victims, ignoring calls and messages.
Police further stated that the fraudsters operated primarily through social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook, posing as a legitimate overseas consultancy. The firm did not possess a valid Recruitment Agent (RA) license from the Ministry of External Affairs, making their operations illegal.
Two individuals arrested in connection with the case have been identified as Lanka Nirupama, Vice President (South Zone), and Mamidi Arun Raj, Regional Manager (Telangana) of “Trivial Chapter.”
Police confirmed that efforts are underway to trace and apprehend eight other absconding members, including the founder, CEO, and visa department head. Records suggest that the group has been involved in similar fraudulent activities in areas under the KPHB Police Station limits.
Hyderabad Police have issued an advisory urging citizens to verify recruitment agencies through the official eMigrate portal before making any payments. Job seekers are also advised to carefully scrutinize offer letters and avoid unauthorized consultants.
