The Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted to examine allegations of financial irregularities in donations linked to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust in Ayodhya is continuing its investigation. The probe has attracted significant public and political attention as authorities scrutinize donation management practices and related records.

According to reports, the SIT has been investigating allegations concerning the handling of donations received by the Ayodhya Ram Temple trust. As part of the inquiry, officials have questioned key functionaries associated with the trust, including General Secretary Champat Rai and Administrative Officer Gopal Rao.

Investigators reportedly sought details regarding donation collections, accounting procedures, and the systems established for managing funds received from devotees. The inquiry is aimed at understanding whether all financial processes were conducted in accordance with prescribed norms and procedures.

The SIT has also reviewed CCTV footage and examined multiple records connected to the trust’s operations. In addition, authorities are said to have taken possession of documents related to donations for further scrutiny.

Individuals responsible for counting donations and maintaining trust records have also been questioned as part of the ongoing investigation. Officials are reportedly examining various aspects of fund management to determine whether any irregularities occurred.

Meanwhile, the issue has sparked political debate in Uttar Pradesh. Samajwadi Party president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav criticized the handling of donations and raised concerns regarding transparency. Speaking to the media in Lucknow, he questioned the management of donations and other financial records associated with the temple.

Akhilesh Yadav also alleged that there was insufficient transparency in the donation collection process and referred to previous controversies linked to land acquisition matters. He demanded greater accountability and clarity regarding the utilization and accounting of funds contributed by devotees.

At present, the SIT investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not publicly announced any final conclusions. Officials are expected to continue examining records, testimonies, and other evidence before submitting their findings.

The outcome of the probe is likely to be closely watched given the religious, social, and political significance of the Ayodhya Ram Temple project. Until the investigation is completed, any allegations or claims remain subject to verification and official confirmation.
