A major fire broke out at a coaching centre in Lucknow Uttar Pradesh on Monday afternoon causing panic among students and leading to a large-scale rescue operation. According to preliminary reports, 14 people have died in the incident and six were injured. According to police the fire started in the lower portion of a three-storey building and later spread to the upper floor where the coaching centre was operating.

Several students reportedly became trapped inside the building as flames and thick smoke quickly engulfed the structure.

Eyewitnesses stated that some students jumped from the upper floors and rooftops to save themselves. Several individuals reportedly sustained injuries while attempting to escape. Videos circulating on social media show flames emerging from the building and students being rescued by local residents and emergency teams.

Fire brigade personnel, police officers, and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams rushed to the scene and launched rescue operations. Officials stated that firefighters first focused on controlling the visible flames before conducting internal searches to determine whether any students remained trapped inside the building.

Witnesses claimed that four to five students and one female student were rescued from the premises. However, authorities continued search operations due to fears that additional people might still be inside. Fire department officials indicated that the intensity of the blaze made rescue operations extremely difficult. Hydraulic platforms and firefighting equipment were deployed to reach upper floors.

After the fire was brought under control, thick smoke continued to emerge from the building, prompting authorities to conduct detailed inspections. The incident has once again raised concerns regarding fire safety measures, emergency exits, and compliance standards in educational institutions and commercial buildings.

Authorities fear the death toll may rise further as rescue teams continue to search the smoke-filled building. Several witnesses claimed that many students were still inside the coaching centre when the fire spread rapidly through the upper floors. Officials have not yet confirmed the exact number of students present at the time of the incident, raising concerns that additional casualties may be discovered as search and rescue operations continue.
