The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation election results for 2026 point to a fragmented verdict, with the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen emerging as a key player even as no single party comes close to securing a clear majority.

The civic election outcome in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar reflects a sharply divided political landscape. According to the latest trends from all 115 wards, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen has secured 16 seats, placing it ahead of other opposition parties and strengthening its influence in the city’s municipal politics.

The Bharatiya Janata Party is currently leading with 49 seats, emerging as the single largest party but still falling well short of the majority mark. Close behind is the Shiv Sena, which has won 13 seats so far.

The Uddhav Thackeray-led faction of the Shiv Sena, commonly referred to as Shiv Sena (UBT), has secured 6 seats, indicating a reduced but notable presence in the civic body. Meanwhile, the Indian National Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party have not open their account and Vanchit Bahujan Agadi 4 seats.

The Sharad Pawar faction of the NCP has won a single seat, while one ward has gone to other candidates. The overall tally highlights the absence of a clear mandate, making post-poll negotiations and possible alliances crucial for the formation of the municipal administration.

Political observers note that AIMIM’s performance could prove decisive in determining the next civic leadership in Sambhajinagar, as parties explore coalition options in the coming days.
