Telangana Mahabubnagar Student on STEM OPT Dies After Falling Ill in Florida US

A 26-year-old student from Telangana who had travelled to the United States for higher education has passed away after reportedly falling ill in Florida. The incident has caused grief among his family members and the Telugu community.

Arun Saireddy Bollendula, a native of Mahabubnagar district in Telangana, was residing in Tampa, Florida. He was reportedly staying in the United States under the STEM Optional Practical Training (OPT) program.

According to available information, Arun suddenly became ill on June 19. His health condition reportedly deteriorated rapidly, prompting his admission to a hospital.

Despite receiving medical treatment, Arun passed away while undergoing treatment at the hospital. The exact nature of his illness has not been officially disclosed.

Arun belonged to Mahabubnagar district and had moved to the United States to pursue higher education and professional opportunities. Like many Indian students, he was reportedly continuing his career journey through the STEM OPT program, which allows international graduates in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields to gain work experience in the United States.

His sudden death has left his family, relatives, and friends in deep sorrow. The news has also saddened members of the Telugu community residing abroad.

According to family arrangements are currently being made to transport Arun’s mortal remains to India. Family members and well-wishers are coordinating efforts to bring him back to his hometown for the final rites.

The death of Indian students and young professionals abroad often creates emotional and logistical challenges for families, particularly when repatriation procedures are involved. Community organizations and friends frequently assist families during such difficult times.
