In a major administrative restructuring, the Telangana government has reorganized three police commissionerates’ jurisdictions and creating two new commissionerates, Future City and Malkajgiri, as part of a broader post-GHMC expansion plan.

The government on Monday announced that G. Sudheer Babu has been appointed the first Commissioner of Police of the newly created Future City Commissionerate, while Avinash Mohanty will head the newly formed Malkajgiri Commissionerate.

Following the reorganization, Dr. M. Ramesh will serve as the Commissioner of Cyberabad, and Akshansh Yadav has been posted as the Superintendent of Police for the newly created Yadadri Bhongir police district.

The Hyderabad Commissionerate will now oversee the state’s most sensitive and high-security areas, including the Legislative Assembly, Secretariat, Begumpet, Shamshabad Airport, and Budvel High Court zone.

The Cyberabad Commissionerate retains jurisdiction over major IT and industrial corridors, including Gachibowli, Financial District, Nanakramguda, Madhapur, Raidurg, Patancheru, Genome Valley, RC Puram, and Ameenpur.

The Malkajgiri Commissionerate has been carved out of the former Rachakonda limits, encompassing Keesara, Shamirpet, Quthbullapur, and Kompally.

Meanwhile, the Future City Commissionerate will focus on fast-developing zones such as Chevella, Moinabad, Shankarpally, Maheshwaram, and Ibrahimpatnam, catering to emerging residential and industrial growth.

The Bhuvanagiri area, earlier under Rachakonda, will now function as a separate police district under Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, led by an SP.

This reshaping of commissionerates aims to improve policing efficiency, ensure faster response times, and accommodate the city’s rapid expansion beyond traditional limits.
