Hyderabad, November 5:
In a shocking incident, a 28-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide along with her two-year-old daughter by jumping into the Hussain Sagar Lake at Tank Bund. The tragedy, which occurred on November 2, came to light later, sending shockwaves through the city.
According to police, the deceased, identified as Keerthika Agarwal, worked as a Chartered Accountant with an annual package of ₹25 lakh. She had been living separately from her husband, Prudhvi Lal, for the past two years due to marital disputes. Keerthika had been staying with her parents in Bahadurpura along with her daughter, Byara.
Locals near Necklace Road noticed the bodies floating in the lake and alerted the police. The remains were shifted to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem examination. Following a complaint from Keerthika’s parents about their missing daughter and granddaughter, police identified the bodies and informed the family.
The bodies were handed over to relatives after autopsy in the presence of a local magistrate. Preliminary police investigation suggests domestic issues as the cause behind the tragic act.
