Hyderabad Police have issued a stern warning to function hall owners across Kulsumpura Division, stating that repeated violations of noise pollution norms, public nuisance regulations, and traffic management guidelines could result in the cancellation of their trade licences and permissions.
The warning was issued during an awareness meeting conducted on Monday with function hall owners and managers operating under Kulsumpura Division in Golconda Zone. The meeting focused on preventing public disturbance and ensuring strict compliance with the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000, and other applicable laws.
Addressing the gathering, B. Krishna Goud Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Golconda Zone said police regularly receive complaints from residents regarding loud music, DJ systems, use of loudspeakers beyond permitted hours, bursting of firecrackers, traffic congestion, improper parking, and other activities causing inconvenience to people living near function halls.
The officer directed all function hall managements to strictly follow government and police guidelines, maintain permissible sound levels, regulate parking arrangements, and ensure that events do not create public nuisance or disturb peace in surrounding residential areas.
He warned that any violation would be dealt with seriously and strict legal action would be initiated against the concerned managements. In cases of repeated violations, police would initiate proceedings under relevant legal provisions and recommend cancellation of trade licences and other permissions granted to the establishments.
Police also instructed function hall operators not to allow loudspeakers, DJ systems, or high-volume music beyond legally prescribed timings and sound limits. They were asked to ensure that vehicles belonging to guests do not obstruct roads, footpaths, or public spaces and that all safety and public order measures are followed during events.
The meeting was attended by Station House Officers of Tappachabutra, Gudimalkapura, Kulsumpura, and Mangalhat police stations, along with Detective Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors from the respective jurisdictions. A large number of function hall owners and managers participated in the programme and assured the police of their cooperation in maintaining public peace and order.
The Hyderabad City Police appealed to function hall operators and the public to cooperate in ensuring a peaceful environment and protecting the quality of life of residents living near event venues.
