Hyderabad, April 14, 2026: The Sikh community in Telangana celebrated the 327th Khalsa Panth Foundation Day, popularly known as Vaisakhi, with immense enthusiasm and devotion in Hyderabad. The main celebrations were held at Gurudwara Saheb Ameerpet and Sri Guru Gobind Singhji Playground.
The day began with a large religious congregation known as “Vishaal Deewan,” where devotees gathered in large numbers. The event featured recitations of Gurbani Keertans and spiritual sermons delivered by renowned Ragi Jathas and Kathakars from different parts of the country.
Prominent religious preachers including Bhai S Gurdev Singh (Australia), Gyani Gagandeep Singh (Patna Sahib), Bhai Manpreet Singh (Delhi), and Bhai Veer Singh (Hyderabad) participated in the congregation. They emphasized the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib Ji, highlighting values such as unity, peace, brotherhood, and communal harmony.
One of the major attractions of the celebration was the colorful Nagar Keertan procession held in the evening. The procession began from Gurudwara Saheb Ameerpet and passed through key areas including Greenlands, Begumpet, and Punjagutta before returning to the starting point.
The holy procession featured the revered Sri Guru Granth Sahib carried on a decorated vehicle, accompanied by Nishaan Sahib bearers and groups singing devotional hymns. Sikh youth showcased breathtaking Gatka performances, demonstrating traditional martial arts skills with swords and other weapons, drawing admiration from onlookers.
Langar, the community kitchen, was organized throughout the day, offering free meals to all attendees regardless of background. Tea, snacks, and Kada Prasad were also distributed along the procession route.
The celebrations will continue with a night congregation, “Vaisakhi Raen Sabai Keertan Darbar,” scheduled from 9:00 PM to 1:30 AM on April 15 at the same venue.
The event once again highlighted the spirit of unity, service, and devotion that defines the Sikh community.
