A major road accident occurred on Saturday on the PVN Expressway under the Rajendranagar police limits in Ranga Reddy district. Three cars collided with each other near Pillar Number 253, triggering panic among commuters.
Police said the vehicles crashed into one another within seconds, leaving the cars badly damaged. Several occupants sustained injuries in the accident.
On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and launched rescue operations. The 3 injured were shifted to nearby hospitals in ambulances. Officials said details regarding the condition of the injured are awaited.
Police registered a case and began an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.According to Eyewitness overspeeding of a car is the main cause of this accident.
Heavy Traffic Jam on Expressway
The accident led to a massive traffic jam on the PVN Expressway. Vehicles remained stuck from Upperpally to Aramghar junction, causing severe inconvenience to commuters.
Motorists were forced to wait for long periods as traffic movement came to a halt. Police personnel were deployed to clear the congestion and divert vehicles to alternate routes.
Traffic was restored gradually after damaged vehicles were removed from the expressway. Authorities urged commuters to drive cautiously and follow traffic advisories while using the busy corridor.
