GHMC Standing Committee Approves Key Urban Development Projects

Sought Proposals for Multi-Level Parking Near Chowmahalla

Hyderabad, November 20: The GHMC Standing Committee met today under the chairmanship of Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi at the corporation head office Tank Band. The committee approved 18 agenda items and 6 table items. Commissioner R V Karnan, committee members and senior engineering and zonal officials attended the meeting.

The committee cleared a proposal to invite requests for proposals for a multi-level parking complex at Khilwath near Chowmahalla Palace in old city. The project will follow the Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer model for a 15-year period with an additional 5-year extension based on performance.

The committee approved the acquisition of seven properties for the planned road widening from Owaisi Hospital Junction to Santosh Nagar in the Old City. It also approved the acquisition of 106 properties for the proposed flyover at Nanalnagar. A revised proposal for a new ROB at Falaknuma also received approval.

Revised financial proposals linked to ongoing works were cleared. The committee allowed the Commissioner to send a proposal to the government regarding the “One Time Scheme” for property tax.

Four Food Testing Labs in Kukatpally with Rs 5 Crore Budget

Four food testing labs will be set up in Kukatpally. The committee approved a budget of Rs 5 crore for this purpose.

Approval was given for a new GHMC call center and an upgrade of its server infrastructure. The committee also permitted tenders for the operation and maintenance of ten sports complexes in the Khairatabad Zone. The Khajaguda Sports Complex will be leased to a private agency for maintenance.

A one-year agreement has been approved with specialised agencies for sanitation work in five circles of the Secunderabad Zone.

The committee approved the acquisition of 26 properties for a 4-lane uni-directional road at Rasoolpura Junction. Administrative approval was also given for the restoration of the Fatehnagar flyover.

Standing Committee members Syed Minhajuddin, Abdul Wahab, Mohammed Saleem, Sameena Begum, Parveen Sultana, Baba Fasiuddin and others participated in the meeting.
