45 Hyderabadi Umrah pilgrims laid to rest in Jannatul Baqi in Madinah

Hyderabad, November 22: The Hyderabad pilgrims who died in the recent bus accident near Madinah were laid to rest today in Jannatul Baqi. The funeral prayer took place after Dhuhr at the Prophet’s Mosque. Imam Shaikh Abdul Bari al Thubaiti led the prayer. Bodies were moved from the mosque to the cemetery immediately after the prayer. A Telangana government delegation attended the burial. The delegation was led by Minorities Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin. Minorities Welfare Secretary B Shafiullah and AIMIM MLA Majid Hussain were also present. The Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia confirmed that all funeral procedures were completed today. Bus–Tanker Collision.1 Survivor Identified Mohammed Naseer Giyas At least 45 Indian nationals, all of them from Hyderabad, were killed early Monday when a bus carrying Umrah pilgrims collided with a diesel tanker on the Makkah–Madinah Highway. Only one survivor has been reported so far. A bus transporting 46 Umrah pilgrims from Makkah to Madinah met with a devastating accident around 1:30 AM IST near Mufrihat, approximately 40 km from Madinah. According to initial briefings received by the Telangana government, 45 passengers died on the spot, while one man, identified as Mohammad Shoib, survived with injuries and was shifted to a hospital.
