Meta-owned Facebook is introducing changes to its monetization ecosystem, offering new opportunities for content creators seeking to earn revenue through the platform. The changes are particularly important for emerging creators who previously struggled to meet strict eligibility requirements.

Facebook remains one of the world’s largest social media platforms and continues to serve millions of users across India and other countries. Thousands of freelancers, influencers, video creators, and digital publishers depend on the platform to generate monthly income through content creation.

Previously, creators often needed to achieve demanding milestones before gaining access to monetization features. Requirements such as 10,000 followers and millions of minutes of watch time created significant barriers for smaller creators.

Meta’s newer monetization approach appears to place greater emphasis on audience engagement, original content, and account authenticity. Creators who consistently produce videos, reels, photos, and other original material may have improved opportunities to qualify for monetization programs.

“I have been working on two Facebook pages. One page is already monetized, and I earn an average of $80 to $120 per month from it. Now, I have a golden opportunity to monetize my second page, which has 2,500 followers. If I fulfill the new challenge requirements, I will be able to earn money through both pages,” Syed Rashid said while speaking to RaftaareDeccan.com.

According to industry estimates, a large number of Indian creators earn less than ₹10,000 to ₹20,000 per month. Many smaller creators experience irregular income due to limited reach and low advertising rates. Only a small percentage of creators earn substantial revenue through advertisements, brand collaborations, and platform incentives.

Facebook earnings also vary significantly depending on niche, audience size, and engagement levels. Creators with more than 100,000 followers may earn substantially higher incomes through reels, advertising programs, subscriptions, and Stars. Some larger creators reportedly earn thousands of dollars per month through cross-platform content distribution.

To improve monetization opportunities, creators are encouraged to publish original content regularly, avoid copyright violations, and actively engage with their audiences. High-engagement categories such as technology, local news, education, entertainment, and community issues often perform well.

Creators can monitor their eligibility through Facebook’s Professional Dashboard, where they can review available monetization tools and account status. Programs may include video ads, content monetization, Stars, subscriptions, and performance-based payouts.

Industry experts continue to emphasize that consistency, audience trust, and content quality remain the most important factors for long-term success. While major influencers may earn substantial incomes, many smaller creators still face challenges in building sustainable revenue streams.
