Hyderabad to get India’s biggest AI data centre with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) subsidiary HyperVault planning a massive 1-gigawatt campus in Telangana. Spread across more than 250 acres, the Hyderabad AI data centre project could attract an investment of up to ₹70,000 crore and is expected to create around 7,000 direct and indirect jobs.
Hyderabad is set to host a large-scale artificial intelligence infrastructure campus developed by HyperVault, a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). The proposed campus will have capacity of up to 1 gigawatt and will be spread across more than 250 acres in Hyderabad, Telangana. The project is expected to support frontier AI companies, hyperscalers and global enterprises.
HyperVault and its partners are expected to invest up to Rs 70,000 crore to build and manage the infrastructure. According to the Telangana Government announcement, the project is estimated to create around 7,000 direct and indirect jobs. At full build-out, the campus is expected to rank among the largest and most advanced AI infrastructure campuses in India. The facility is being designed to provide high-density, liquid-cooled compute infrastructure at a global scale.
According to Telangana Chief Secretry Sanjay Jaju the project will also incorporate green energy and water-neutral design principles. Beyond the data centre campus itself, the development is expected to stimulate activity across several parts of India’s AI infrastructure ecosystem, including power, cooling, networking, construction, engineering and operations.

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy described the project as a “historic” development for both Telangana and India. He said the availability of AI compute infrastructure within the state would provide Telangana with an advantage as access to AI models and computing increasingly becomes important infrastructure.
“This decade is one of Artificial Intelligence,” the Chief Minister said. He added that the project demonstrates Hyderabad’s position at the forefront of the global AI revolution. Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu said the agreement was developed at record speed. According to the announcement, the project originated from a meeting between Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, in Davos in January 2026.
The minister said officials from the Telangana government, HyperVault and TCS subsequently worked on the project, with Telangana eventually securing the proposed development after competing with five other states.
TCS CEO K. Krithivasan said HyperVault would advance TCS’s “Infrastructure-to-Intelligence” strategy by combining AI-ready infrastructure with its cloud, engineering, enterprise transformation and AI capabilities. He said Hyderabad offered the scale, talent and ecosystem required to serve global customers.
Deepesh Nanda, MD and CEO of HyperVault AI Data Center Limited, said the company was focusing on higher-density infrastructure, liquid cooling, larger power blocks and faster deployment. He said Hyderabad provided a foundation for building such infrastructure at scale for frontier AI companies and hyperscalers. The proposed development represents a major planned expansion of AI-focused digital infrastructure in Hyderabad. Its final scale, investment deployment and construction milestones will depend on the project’s execution and build-out.
