Residents in several parts of Hyderabad and surrounding areas will face temporary power interruptions on Thursday as the Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) undertakes maintenance works, feeder repairs, and tree branch trimming activities.
According to officials from various TGSPDCL divisions, the planned shutdowns are necessary to ensure the safe and efficient functioning of the power distribution network. The outages will affect multiple residential, commercial, and industrial areas across the city.
In the Hastinapuram Division, power supply under the Nandanavanam substation will remain suspended from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM in Gayatri Nagar, Gayatri Homes, Devi Gayatri Nagar, Sri Gayatri Nagar, Venkata Sai Colony, and Jillelaguda Village. Additional outages are scheduled between 2:30 PM and 5:00 PM in Teachers Colony, Nagarjuna Colony, Chaitanya Hills, Nandi Hills Road Nos. 2–22, Shiganga Hills, and Prashanth Hills.
The Asmangadh Division will witness interruptions from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM in Saidabad Colony, Dilsukhnagar, Paltan, Dharmavanth College surroundings, and GM Nagar feeder areas. A second shutdown phase will take place from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM covering the MRO Office area, GA Bank Colony, Dargah locality, Seven Temple area, Judges Colony, and Mataki Kidiki feeder regions.
Power supply will also be interrupted in Inamguda and Abdullapurmet areas due to tree branch cutting operations. Industrial zones and agricultural supply areas connected to the Abdullapurmet substation will be affected during afternoon hours.
Several central Hyderabad locations under the Azamabad Division, including Gagan Mahal, Lakdikapul, King Kothi, Shankar Mutt, Sai Baba Temple area, and Azamabad Industrial Estate, will experience outages during the morning session. Additional localities such as Erramanzil, Nallakunta, Ram Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar, and Keshav Memorial area are scheduled for afternoon interruptions.
Malkajgiri, Neredmet, Uppal, Moula Ali, and Sainikpuri divisions will also witness planned shutdowns across numerous colonies and feeder areas. Maintenance activities, including feeder servicing and vegetation management, have been cited as the primary reasons for the temporary interruptions.
TGSPDCL officials have advised residents, business establishments, and industrial consumers in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements in advance. Consumers are encouraged to plan their activities accordingly and cooperate with electricity department personnel during the scheduled maintenance works.
