Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Monday inaugurated of an Apollo Hospital facility at Financial District called “The Hospital of Gratitude” and while his addressed he outlined the state’s vision for healthcare expansion, medical tourism, and investment opportunities.
During the event, the Chief Minister recalled that Apollo Hospitals began its journey 46 years ago in Chennai. He acknowledged Dr. Pratap Reddy as a pioneer who played a key role in shaping India’s modern healthcare infrastructure. Apollo, he said, has become a symbol of trust and hope for millions of people.
Revanth Reddy emphasized that Hyderabad is steadily emerging as a major hub for medical tourism. The government is actively working to attract international patients, particularly from Middle Eastern countries. In this regard, a request has been made to the central government to facilitate direct international flights to Hyderabad.
He also announced plans to establish an internationally recognized “Health City” in the state. This initiative aims to position Hyderabad among the top global healthcare destinations. Additionally, discussions are underway with airport authorities to create a “green channel” system that allows faster transportation of patients from the airport to hospitals.
The Chief Minister highlighted Hyderabad’s contribution to the pharmaceutical sector, noting that COVID-19 vaccines were produced in the city. He also stated that around 40 percent of bulk drug production in India takes place in Hyderabad.
Revanth Reddy praised Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha, referring to him as a “social doctor” for his contributions to public welfare. He assured that the Telangana government would provide full support to the healthcare sector and ensure a secure environment for investors.
Inviting global investors, he concluded by stating that Telangana is open for business and offers strong opportunities for growth in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.
