Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy highlighted the state’s ambitious plans to integrate Artificial Intelligence into public governance during a high-profile session at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Speaking at the session titled “Intelligent Infrastructure for Building Competitiveness”, the Chief Minister outlined how AI-led solutions are being deployed to improve citizen services across Telangana. The discussion focused on the role of intelligent systems in enhancing transparency, efficiency, and speed in government operations.
Revanth Reddy explained that AI is being used in areas ranging from tracking farmer subsidies and improving property tax collections to ensuring timely delivery of welfare schemes for women. Urban municipal challenges are also being addressed through data-driven and automated systems. “System intelligence has been both the problem and the solution,” he remarked, underscoring the transformative role of technology in governance.
Emphasizing the urgency of adopting emerging technologies, the Chief Minister stated that governments can no longer afford to remain passive in the age of Artificial Intelligence. According to him, proactive and fast decision-making supported by intelligent systems is now essential for effective administration.
During his address, Revanth Reddy also spoke about the long-term vision of Telangana Rising 2047. He outlined the state’s goal of becoming a $3 trillion economy by 2047, aligning development plans with innovation, technology, and global competitiveness.
Highlighting Hyderabad’s strategic importance, he noted that the capital city has emerged as a major hub for Global Capability Centers (GCCs), with leading multinational companies operating across various sectors. To remain attractive to global investors, the state is committed to building robust and intelligent digital infrastructure.
The WEF session brought together prominent leaders from business, government, and academia, who shared global examples of smart factories, sustainable energy systems, AI-driven public services, and smart cities. The discussions showcased how intelligent infrastructure is being used worldwide to enhance economic competitiveness.
The participation of Telangana at such a global forum signals the state’s intent to position itself as a leader in AI-driven governance and innovation, while aligning local development goals with global best practices.
