The Hyderabad Traffic Police has announced a complete closure of all flyovers across the city on the night of January 16–17, 2026, in view of “Shab-e-Meraj” observances.
To ensure public safety and smooth movement during the religious event “Shab-e-Meraj – Jagne Ki Raat,” the Hyderabad City Police has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory.
According to the advisory released by D. Joel Davis, IPS, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), all flyovers in Hyderabad, including Necklace Road, will remain closed from 10:00 PM on January 16 until the early hours of January 17, 2026.
However, exceptions have been made for Greenlands Flyover, PVNR Expressway, and Langar House Flyover, which will remain open for commuters.
Additionally, Telangana Talli, Shaikpet, Manmohan Singh, and Bahadurpura X Road flyovers will be closed on a need basis depending on traffic conditions.
Citizens are advised to follow updates through official social media handles — facebook.com/HYDTP and @HYDP on Twitter — for real-time traffic updates. In case of travel emergencies, commuters can contact the traffic helpline at 9010203626.
The Hyderabad Traffic Police has urged the public to cooperate and use alternate routes to avoid inconvenience.
