Three separate suicide incidents were reported within a span of one week in and around the Chandrayangutta area of Hyderabad, raising serious concern among local residents and authorities.
According to police officials, the first incident occurred on January 4, when Nisar Pasha, a 45-year-old resident of Phool Bagh, allegedly died by suicide by hanging at his residence. Family members informed the police that he had been facing personal issues along with financial problems, which may have driven him to take the extreme step late Saturday night.
On the same day, another tragic incident was reported from Hashimabad in Bandlaguda. Mohammed Arif, a 55-year-old auto driver, allegedly consumed acid and later died. Bandlaguda police stated that the incident took place on Saturday evening. His family reportedly told investigators that Arif had been under severe financial stress for a prolonged period. Police completed all necessary legal formalities in connection with the case.
Earlier, on January 8, Syed Shamshuddin alias Amer, a 32-year-old electrician and a resident of Chandrayangutta, was found dead in Phool Bagh. Police registered a case and shifted the body to Osmania General Hospital for postmortem examination.
In all three cases, police have registered separate First Information Reports (FIRs) and stated that investigations are underway to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the deaths. Officials noted that preliminary information from family members in two cases pointed towards financial distress as a possible factor.
The series of incidents has triggered concern among local residents, who have called for increased awareness and support mechanisms for individuals facing mental health and financial challenges. Police have urged families and community members to seek timely help and counseling in cases of severe distress.
