Hyderabad’s Urdu journalism community is mourning the demise of senior sports journalist MA Rahim, who passed away on Tuesday after a prolonged illness. His death has been widely described as a significant loss to Urdu media in the city.
MA Rahim was a highly respected name in sports journalism, known for his credibility, balance, and deep understanding of the profession. Over several decades, he built a reputation for principled reporting and professional restraint, earning admiration from both readers and fellow journalists.

The funeral prayer (Namaz-e-Janaza) will be held on Wednesday, January 7 2026, after Zuhr prayers at 1:15 PM at Jama Masjid, AC Guards near Mahavir Hospital, Hyderabad.
Urdu journalism has lost a dignified and credible professional whose work will be remembered for years to come.
