In a swift operation, Keesara Police arrested five accused involved in a daylight robbery attempt at Balaji Jewelry Shop in Nagaram on January 2, 2026. The offenders used an axe and a dummy pistol in the failed heist.
According to police, the robbery took place around 5:15 p.m. when two of the accused entered the jewelry shop posing as customers. Once the situation seemed favorable, two others armed with an axe and a dummy pistol stormed in, while their accomplices exited the shop to avoid suspicion.
The shop owner Sandeep Gehloth sustained minor injuries while bravely resisting the robbers and managed to retrieve the stolen jewelry bag as the offenders fled on a Pulsar bike.
The accused have been identified as Nazeem Azeez Kotadiya (39), Bishu Karma Ekendar Singh (24), Mohd Saif Ali (23), Rajendar Singh (19), and Ratan Singh Bahadur (23). Police stated that A1 to A3 are habitual offenders, while A5 is a known rowdy sheeter of Gudimalkapur PS.
The investigation revealed that the gang had conducted reconnaissance of jewelry shops near city outskirts to plan the crime. They used a stolen bike and had previously been involved in multiple property offences.
Police seized one Maruti Baleno car, a Pulsar bike, and a dummy pistol from the offenders. Several earlier cases against them have now been linked, including crimes under Sadashivpet, Chaderghat, Medchal, and Afzalgunj PS limits.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of DCPs Ch. Sridhar, IPS, and Ramana Reddy, along with officers from the SOT, Keesara, and Clues Team.
