Interstate Human Trafficking Gang Busted in Hyderabad, Two Infants Rescued

In a major breakthrough, Hyderabad police have busted an interstate human trafficking gang operating from the city and rescued two newborn babies during a joint operation. The Miyapur Police and the SOT Shamshabad team arrested 11 members including 8 woman of an organized human trafficking gang involved in the illegal procurement and sale of newborn infant babies.

According to DCP Madhapur Ritiraj, the gang targeted economically vulnerable families across different states who were unable to support their newborn children. The accused allegedly induced such families to sell their babies by offering monetary incentives.

After illegally procuring the infants, the gang sold them to affluent and childless couples for large sums of money through a well-organized interstate network. Investigations revealed that the accused had been operating across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, and Maharashtra, she added.

Madhapur DCP stated that the prime accused have a long criminal history, with multiple cases registered under the IPC, JJ Act, BNS, and the Surrogacy (Regulation) Act across Cyberabad, Rachakonda, and Hyderabad jurisdictions.

During the present operation, two newborn babies were rescued while the accused were in the process of selling them in Hyderabad. One infant had been procured from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, while another was brought from Ramanpet in Siddipet district.

The rescued infants were safely handed over to Sishu Vihar for care and protection as per legal procedures.

The arrests were made under the supervision of senior officers from Cyberabad Police, and the operation was appreciated by the Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad Avinash Mohanty.

Cyberabad Police have warned that strict action will be taken against anyone involved in illegal adoption or human trafficking and urged the public to report suspicious activities.
