The Telangana government has decided to convene the Assembly winter session either on December 29 or in the first week of January. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy discussed the matter with cabinet colleagues during a review meeting held at the Secretariat on Monday.

The meeting, which lasted nearly three hours, focused on the outcome of the recent Panchayat elections. The Chief Minister said the results were satisfactory and congratulated ministers on the party’s performance in Gram Panchayat polls. He urged party leaders and cadre to work with greater strength in the upcoming MPTC and ZPTC elections.

Revanth Reddy called for the same level of commitment in the forthcoming MPTC, ZPTC, and GHMC elections. The meeting also reviewed the success of the recent Global Summit and discussed preparations for the Assembly session and local body elections.

The Chief Minister directed leaders to aim for a clean sweep of ZPTC chairperson posts across the state and said a decision on election schedules will be taken soon. On the Palamuru Ranga Reddy project, he asked leaders to counter what he described as false propaganda by BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao and take the issue of injustice to Palamuru to the public.

He added that during the Assembly session, the government will place a detailed account of issues related to the Krishna and Godavari rivers and the impact of previous decisions on the state.
