Hyderabad: 10 December Posted on 12:19 PM
The Telangana Government has approved administrative sanction of Rs 1000 crore for infrastructure development at Osmania University in Hyderabad. The Higher Education Department issued the order on 9 December 2025.
Osmania University will use the funds to improve facilities, create new infrastructure within the campus and upgrade existing structures. The Registrar of the University will take the next steps to implement the order.
Principal Secretary N. Sridhar signed the order on behalf of the Governor. Copies were sent to key state financial departments for follow-up action.
This decision supports one of the oldest universities in South India and benefits students across Telangana.
Earlier, during the 10-year tenure of the KCR government, Osmania University faced financial stress and staff shortages. More than 50 percent of academic posts stayed vacant in the university.
Student groups held repeated protests, but the BRS government did not respond to their demands.
