In the latest Bihar election trends, only 12 Muslim candidates are leading, marking one of the lowest representation levels in the state, reportedly falling below five percent.
According to preliminary results, Muslim representation in the Bihar Legislative Assembly has seen a significant drop. Out of all constituencies, only 12 Muslim candidates have emerged in leading positions.
The party-wise breakup shows five from AIMIM, four from RJD, two from the Congress, and one from the JDU. Compared to previous elections, this is believed to be the lowest number of Muslim MLAs since the beginning of electoral politics in the state.
Observers attribute this decline to shifts in coalition strategies, changes in ticket distribution, and fragmentation of votes. For a state with a sizeable Muslim population, the representation falling below five percent raises fresh debates about political exclusion of Muslims.
Moreover Asaduddin Owaisi’s party five Muslim candidate won from Seemanchal and four of them give defeat to NDA Candidates. Only in Kochadhanam RJD is runner up agaisnt the MIM.
