Hyderabad, Nov 1: A bomb threat email targeting an Indigo flight bound for Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport from Jeddah triggered a security alert late Friday night.
Airport authorities immediately diverted the aircraft to Mumbai as a precautionary measure. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and police launched an investigation to trace the origin of the threat.
In recent weeks, several airports including Delhi and Hyderabad have received similar threat emails, leading to heightened security checks and passenger anxiety.
Officials said all standard safety protocols were followed, and the flight landed safely in Mumbai. Meanwhile, passengers have urged authorities to take strict action against those behind such hoax messages.
Security teams continue to maintain high alert at major airports, with round-the-clock inspections and screening.
