Hyderabad, December 20: Posted on 9:10 PM IST

A newly married couple from Andhra Pradesh died after falling from a moving train near Vangapalli railway station in Bhongir Telangana. The incident has raised serious questions, and police are investigating multiple angles, including the possibility of suicide.

The deceased were identified as Korada Simhachalam, 25, a native of Ravupalli village in Garugubilli mandal of Parvathipuram Manyam district, and his wife Bhavani, 19, from Annavaram village in the same district. The couple had married just two months ago.

Simhachalam was working at a chemical factory in Hyderabad. The couple was living together in Gandhinagar, Jagadgirigutta. On Thursday night, they boarded the Machilipatnam Express from Secunderabad to travel to Vijayawada to visit relatives.

According to preliminary information, both were standing near the train door after it crossed Vangapalli railway station when they fell from the moving train and died on the spot. Railway trackmen noticed the bodies on Friday morning during routine duty and alerted the railway police.

Police registered a case and shifted the bodies to Bhuvanagiri Government Hospital for post-mortem examination. After autopsy, the bodies were sent to their native district in Andhra Pradesh.

Initially, the incident was believed to be accidental. However, doubts emerged after videos surfaced showing the couple arguing inside the train shortly before the incident. Reports suggest that during the argument, the couple moved towards the train door.

Investigators are examining whether Bhavani jumped from the train following a dispute and whether Simhachalam jumped in an attempt to save her. Police are also probing the possibility that both intentionally jumped, indicating a suicide pact.

Railway police said all angles are under investigation, and conclusions will be drawn after a detailed inquiry, including analysis of video footage and statements from co-passengers. Police will also take statements from the relatives to know the relationship and bonding between the couple.
