The Telangana Waqf Board has directed its officers to complete pending verification and approval of Waqf institutions on the UMEED Central Portal on a priority basis, emphasizing transparency and legal caution.
The Telangana Waqf Board has convened a high-level review meeting on Wednesday to assess the progress of verification and approval of remaining Waqf institutions on the UMEED Central Portal. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman Syed Azmatullah Hussaini along with board members and the Chief Executive Officer.
During the review, officers and in-charge superintendents presented an oral update on the work completed so far. The Chairman discussed the next course of action, identified implementation challenges, and fixed clear timelines for completion of the pending work.
Officials were instructed to carry out the remaining tasks on a war-footing basis. Special emphasis was laid on exercising extreme caution while entering data related to large Waqf land parcels, considering their legal sensitivity and long-term implications.
To streamline the process, district-wise teams will be constituted for all ten erstwhile districts of Telangana. The work on the UMEED Central Portal will commence immediately in all districts through these dedicated teams.
According to Syed Azmatullah Hussaini for the convenience of the general public and Waqf stakeholders, the Board has ordered the reopening of UMEED Central Portal counters at the Haj House Building in Nampally Hyderabad. These counters will assist in the enrollment and verification of Waqf institutions.
The Chairman also highlighted the need for a comprehensive awareness campaign to educate stakeholders about the importance of the UMEED Portal. The initiative aims to safeguard religious institutions and prevent future litigation related to Waqf properties.
