Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to introduce new regulations for the functioning of temples across the state. The move aims to prioritize spirituality and maintain the sanctity of temple premises.

During a high-level review meeting held on the development of the Basara Gnana Saraswati Temple, officials presented a master plan estimated at ₹225 crore. The meeting focused on ensuring that modernization efforts align with traditional practices.

The Chief Minister emphasized that political activities such as party meetings, flag hoisting, and demonstrations should be strictly prohibited within temple premises. He underlined that temples must remain spaces of spiritual importance, free from political influence.

In reviewing the Basara temple development plan, CM Revanth Reddy suggested several modifications. He instructed that all construction and development activities must strictly adhere to established rituals and traditions associated with the temple.

To accommodate the increasing number of devotees, the government plans to develop wider and more accessible roads around the temple. Additionally, a comprehensive plantation initiative has been proposed to enhance the greenery and aesthetic appeal of the temple surroundings.

The establishment of a healthcare center with adequate medical staff was also discussed. This facility is expected to serve devotees during major events such as Godavari Pushkaralu and other festivals.

Addressing traffic congestion, the Chief Minister ordered that even VIP vehicles must be parked outside the temple premises. Only electric vehicles (EVs) will be permitted within the temple premises to ensure better crowd management and environmental sustainability.

Furthermore, a solar rooftop system is planned for installation in the parking area as part of green energy initiatives.

The Chief Minister stressed that the sanctity of the temple must not be disturbed during development works. He also warned officials of strict action if quality standards are not maintained.

Several senior officials and ministers, including Endowment Minister Konda Surekha and other top bureaucrats, attended the review meeting
