Telangana Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha on Thursday held a review meeting with senior officials to assess the status of medical education and health university administration in the state.
The Minister said the government is giving priority to improving medical education standards and strengthening research activities. He stressed the need to raise academic quality in line with the growing number of government medical colleges.
During the meeting, officials discussed plans to increase postgraduate and super specialty seats in government medical colleges. The Minister directed departments to focus on expanding advanced medical education to meet future healthcare needs.
With the number of medical colleges rising across Telangana, the Health Minister said the health university must grow stronger. He instructed officials to upgrade infrastructure, staffing, and academic systems to match the expanded role of the university.
The Minister issued key directions on digital transformation of the health university. He said digital systems should support admissions, academics, and examinations to improve transparency and efficiency.
Special focus was placed on strengthening the examination branch. The Minister said timely exams, accurate evaluation, and faster results are essential for student confidence and institutional credibility.
Officials were asked to submit time-bound action plans on medical education reforms, university digitisation, and examination management. The government aims to ensure that students receive quality education and the health system benefits from well-trained medical professionals.
