Google Keen to Partner With Telangana on Agriculture and Climate Action

At the World Economic Forum 2026, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy presented the state’s long-term development vision while holding high-level discussions with Google on agriculture, climate action, and urban sustainability.

The Telangana Rising delegation, led by the Chief Minister met senior leadership of Google India to deliberate on climate change challenges, their impact on agriculture, and rising urban pollution. The meeting highlighted the state’s intent to leverage advanced technology for sustainable and inclusive growth.

During discussions with Sanjay Gupta, President – APAC, Google, the Chief Minister outlined the innovative CURE, PURE, and RARE framework, designed to promote balanced regional economic development. He emphasized Telangana’s goal of making core Hyderabad pollution-free through smart governance and technology-driven solutions.

Key areas of potential collaboration included traffic management systems, cybersecurity infrastructure, agricultural technology solutions, and support for startup innovation. The Chief Minister also expressed gratitude to Google for establishing the first-ever Google for Startups Hub in Hyderabad, strengthening the city’s global startup ecosystem.

Agriculture remained a central focus of the talks, with discussions covering soil health management, excessive fertilizer usage, and the urgent need for farmer education. The state highlighted the importance of preventive, technology-enabled solutions to ensure sustainable farming practices.

Responding positively, Sanjay Gupta stated that Google would be happy to extend support to Telangana across multiple sectors, including traffic control, cybersecurity, agriculture, startups, and climate action initiatives.

Minister for IT and Industries D. Sridhar Babu highlighted Telangana’s skilling initiatives, such as Young India Skills University, BFSI skilling programmes, partnerships with Khan Academy and Physics Wallah, the introduction of AI curriculum, free power to government schools, and high-speed internet connectivity through T-Fiber.

Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and senior officials, including Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, were also present during the meeting, underscoring the state’s coordinated approach to development.
