A traffic Home Guard attached to the Tolichowki Police Station lost his life in a road accident early Tuesday morning under the PVNR Expressway in Attapur Hyderabad.
The deceased has been identified as Syed Abdul Sattar, 40, bearing Home Guard number 6023. He met with the fatal accident at Pillar No. 192 under the PVNR Expressway, within Cyberabad police limits.
According to police officials, Syed Abdul Sattar had completed his morning traffic duty and was on his way home to Hassan Nagar on a two-wheeler. While proceeding towards his residence, a DCM vehicle allegedly rammed into his motorcycle from behind.
Due to the impact, he sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot. Passersby alerted the police, who rushed to the scene and shifted the body for further procedures.
Police said a case has been registered and an investigation has been initiated. According to locals DCM driver was in haste and due to his negligence home guard lost his life. Further details are awaited. Police booked a case and examining the CCTV footages also.
The tragic incident has cast a pall of gloom among traffic police personnel and colleagues, who remembered Syed Abdul Sattar as a dedicated Home Guard who regularly performed traffic regulation duties in the Tolichowki area.
