Mumbai batter Sarfaraz Khan continued his sensational form in the Vijay Hazare Trophy by smashing a record-breaking half-century against Punjab. The right-hander reached his fifty in just 15 balls, registering the fastest half-century in the history of the tournament.
Sarfaraz walked in to bat after the dismissal of Mumbai opener and his younger brother Musheer Khan. From the very first over, he made his intentions clear with aggressive strokeplay and fearless hitting.
Punjab spinner Harpreet Brar was the first to feel the impact, as Sarfaraz scored 19 runs off just five deliveries. His ability to pick gaps and clear the boundary with ease immediately shifted the momentum in Mumbai’s favour.
The assault intensified when Punjab all-rounder and India T20 opener Abhishek Sharma was introduced into the attack. Sarfaraz dismantled him completely, hammering 30 runs in a single over.
He struck six boundaries off six balls, including three towering sixes and three crisp fours. The over left the Punjab fielders stunned and spectators in awe of the Mumbai batter’s clean hitting.
Sarfaraz’s fearless approach and exceptional timing showcased his confidence and form in domestic cricket. His innings not only changed the course of the match but also became one of the standout performances of the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy.
The knock further underlined Sarfaraz Khan’s red-hot form and his growing reputation as one of the most destructive batters in India’s domestic circuit.
