Rachakonda Police Commissionerate recorded nearly 28 lakh traffic violations during 2025, averaging about 7,500 violations every single day, According to yearly round up booklet released by Commissioner Sudhir Babu during the annual press conference on Monday.
Police data shows traffic rule violations remain widespread across the commissionerate limits despite enforcement drives and repeated public warnings. Overspeeding, helmetless riding, and failure to follow basic safety norms continued to dominate the violation list.
During the same period, 3,488 road accidents occurred in Rachakonda limits. These crashes claimed 621 lives, which means almost two people lost their lives every day on an average. More than 3,200 people suffered injuries, placing a heavy burden on families and emergency services.
The Commissioner said disregard for road safety norms remains the biggest challenge for traffic police and urged citizens to take responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others.
Traffic violations recorded in 2025 include:
Overspeeding: 1,61,648 cases
Riding without a helmet: around 18 lakh cases
Not wearing a seatbelt while driving: 7,23,770 cases
Driving without a licence: 1,33,775 cases
Wrong-side driving: 52,186 cases
Triple riding: 56,265 cases
Signal jumping: 36,520 cases
Using mobile phones while driving: 22,095 cases
Improper number plates: 50,643 cases
Sudhir Babu said enforcement alone does not reduce accidents. Your daily driving choices decide safety outcomes. Wearing a helmet, fastening a seatbelt, obeying speed limits, and avoiding mobile phone use while driving remain the simplest steps to prevent loss of life.
The Commissioner appealed to motorists to treat traffic rules as life-saving measures, not penalties, and stressed sustained awareness and strict enforcement will continue across the Rachakonda zone.
