Several Indian nationals arrived in New Delhi late last night from Iran following a government advisory issued amid rising regional tensions and a worsening security situation in the country.

The advisory, issued as a preventive measure, urged Indian citizens in Iran to exercise caution and consider leaving the country where feasible. In response, many Indians chose to return home, with authorities facilitating their safe and orderly passage.

Officials ensured coordination at multiple levels to assist the returning citizens. Upon arrival, one of the returnees expressed appreciation for the government’s efforts, stating that the timely assistance made the journey back to India smooth and reassuring during a period of uncertainty.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed that it is closely monitoring developments in the region. The ministry reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the interests and well-being of Indian nationals abroad, particularly in areas experiencing instability.

According to the MEA, support mechanisms remain active for Indians who are still in Iran. The government has assured that necessary assistance will continue to be extended based on the evolving situation on the ground.

The return of Indian nationals comes amid heightened tensions in the region, which have prompted several countries to issue advisories for their citizens. Authorities emphasized that the advisory was issued purely as a precautionary step to ensure public safety.

India has, in the past, undertaken similar measures to assist its citizens during international crises, reinforcing its policy of prioritizing the safety of nationals overseas.
