A large-scale cordon and search operation was carried out by the Bhavaninagar Police under the Mirchowk Division in Hyderabad on Thursday April 9. The drive resulted in multiple arrests and seizures, as part of efforts to curb criminal activities and enhance public safety.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Charminar Zone) Kiran Khare Prabhakar, Assistant Commissioner of Police G. Shyam Sundar, and Bhavaninagar Police Station Inspector N. Karuna Kumar.
More than 195 police personnel participated in the operation, which included specialized teams such as search parties, cut-off units, lifting teams, and a holding point. Authorities covered nearly 280 houses in the Road No. 11 areas within the Bhavaninagar police station limits.
According to DCP Charminar Zone during the drive, police apprehended six individuals categorized as rowdy sheeters and eleven persons listed as suspects. These individuals are believed to have been involved in various criminal activities, although further investigation is underway.
In addition to the arrests, police seized a significant number of vehicles, including 69 two-wheelers that lacked proper or valid number plates, and two three-wheelers. Such violations are often linked to attempts to evade identification during illegal activities.
Authorities also recovered ten bags of Public Distribution System (PDS) rice from a resident in the Talabkatta area. The seizure indicates possible diversion or misuse of subsidized essential commodities meant for public welfare.
Kiran Khare Prabhakar stated that the operation was conducted smoothly and effectively, highlighting the importance of such coordinated efforts in maintaining law and order. They emphasized that these initiatives not only deter criminal elements but also help strengthen trust and cooperation between the police and local communities.
Police further indicated that similar operations will continue to be conducted in sensitive areas to ensure sustained vigilance and public safety.
