Bowenpally Police apprehended two men transporting ₹4.05 crore in alleged hawala money near Addakal, Mahabubnagar. The suspects are also linked to a ₹50-lakh cash–RTGS fraud reported in August 2024.
The operation was carried out based on credible intelligence, following which a Hyundai Creta (MH 49 CL **96) was intercepted within the Addakal Police Station limits. Police identified the accused as Prakash Motibhai Prajapathi (30) and Pragnesh Keerthibai Prajapathi (28), both are the native of Gujarat.
Addressing a Press Conference on Friday DCP North Zone Hyderabad Police S. They were also found to be transporting ₹4.05 crore from Nagpur to Bengaluru as part of a hawala network.
The seized amount was documented under a panchanama and is currently under verification to establish its source, intended recipients, and ownership, she said.
Police have advised citizens to remain cautious of illegal money-transfer channels, easy-money schemes, and suspicious financial transactions, urging prompt reporting to the nearest police station.
